How to Stay Energized and Effective When Work Gets Hectic

Every woman strives to be a success in her personal and professional life. Though success means different things to different people, one thing is for sure—hard work and good habits will always pay off. Though we can’t promise you the secret to success (we’re still looking for that ourselves!) we can share our top tricks and tips for staying organized, refreshed and effective in the workplace, whether you’re fresh out of college or already working your way up the corporate ladder.

Write It Down

No matter how good your memory is, you’re bound to let something slip once in a while. Whether it’s a coworker’s birthday, a great idea that will help you get ahead at the office, or even just the number of that cute guy at your favorite coffee shop, if there’s information you want to remember, go old school and jot it down. Keep a cute notebook and a set of fun, colored pens by your desk to help inspire you to get writing.

Set Measurable Goals

For many of us, goals are like New Year’s resolutions: we vow to make some sort of change in our lives, only to start strong and find our resolutions fizzling as the reality of our decision sets in. The key to setting realistic goals is to first consider what it is you’d like to achieve, then commit to it. Write your goals down in detail, then cross them off as you work through them. Create a vision board or keep a photo by your desk of something that inspires you to remind yourself what you’re working towards every day, and try to do at least one thing a day that gets you closer to achieving that goal. After all, good things don’t come to those who wait, but those who do.

Take Care of Your Body

We get it–you’re a busy lady. Between long hours at the office, family responsibilities, and day-to-day chores, there’s little time left for relaxation and self-care. This means that our health can often be neglected, as we forgo eating right, exercise, and (most importantly) getting enough sleep. No matter how hard we push ourselves, there’s a limit to what our bodies can do, which is why it’s important to get enough sleep, eat right, find an exercise you enjoy, and make sure you’re drinking at least 8 ounces of water a day. Your body (and your mind!) will thank you.

Take Time Out for Yourself

Though it may seem counter-intuitive to success, taking a moment to enjoy a coffee break with co-workers, get a manicure, or find a hobby you enjoy can actually help keep you energized and inspired. Taking a break from work-related tasks and responsibilities and enjoying a little “me-time” can help you reset, preventing burnout and giving your mind a break from all the stresses and responsibilities of day-to-day activities. The next time you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, take a moment to step back, step out, and recharge.

Stay Energized

When it comes to being effective, it’s important to stay energized. Taking time out of a busy day to enjoy a brisk walk, a lunch date with a friend, or even just a refreshing beverage can do wonders for the body and your mood. Lift your energy and your spirits by sipping a sparkling Starbucks Refreshers® beverage. Infused with real fruit juice and Green Coffee Extract, this refreshing drink is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up to help you stay energized. With flavors like Black Cherry Limeade and Peach Passion Fruit, that afternoon slump will be a thing of the past!
